If you are a hard core gamer you are most likely not interested in todays article, but as the average computer user who likes to play a little every now and than, you might be in for a treat today. As a Windows user you are not very blessed with free games that come with the system. In Linux you have more luck since in comes with at least 30 good free games included. So what to do if you don't want to spent a lot on games but like to play a little sometimes. On my research I was close to give up after I only found poor boring games that worked or really promising ones I couldn't get to work. Then finally free good games that work. A bunch of old arcade games, and old classics like “Super Mario” “Prince of Persia” and “Zelda” have been cloned and are free available on the Internet. The downside is not all of them work right away and some of them are really large to download (especially with dialup). The variety is endless. From action games over adventures and simulations to first person shooters. Single and multiplayer as well as online games. By the time I'm writing this article I am not done testing most of the games. I will have a list of my top picks on this weeks website advisor.jls-webdesign.com (no www) and also links to them as well as to the top free game collections on the Internet.
To help you download these games you can install a download manger. These programs have the ability to pause your download and resume it later. This way you don't have to get a large game in one big stretch. You can also run downloads over night while you are asleep. Not all games are huge in size. Download times on dialup vary from a few minutes to several hours. It is on you what kind of games you like. Some games play completely online in your webbrowser.
